Rent Increases:

Landlords are still required to give tenants 60-day notices to increase rent more than 10% (Civil Code 827)

Keep in mind that local rent-control ordinances may also limit how much landlords can increase rents, as well as how long the increase notices have to be.

Action: DCA’s Consumer Services Unit takes complaints on this and other landlord-tenant law violations.
