Frequent Filers Can’t Recover
Their Entire Filing Fee

(Amends Civil Code of Procedure 116.230)

A frequent filer is someone (a person or a business) who files more than 12 lawsuits within the previous 12 months. Frequent filers pay higher fees for claims over the 12-lawsuits limit.

This new law limits the amount of the filing fee frequent filers can get back from the defendant. This chart shows the amount they have to pay and what they can get back:
