Contractors: Revoked Licenses

B&P Code Sections 7121.6, 7121.65, 7121.7, 7121.8

This new law deals with the problem of contractors who join another contracting business after their license is revoked. An individual who was an owner, partner, director, officer, or member of a license that was revoked, cannot join another contractor except as a non-supervising employee. To do otherwise is now a misdemeanor. The individual must also notify the prospective new contractor of his revoked status. If the contractor places the individual on a supervising or higher position, it is also a misdemeanor.
