AB 370 (Chap. 319); amends B&P sections 7028 and 7028.16
Background: Unlicensed contractors are subject to criminal penalties.
The new law: Increases the penalties against unlicensed contractors. Additionally, if an unlicensed contractor is convicted of any violation under this statute, a person who hired the unlicensed contractor is considered a crime victim of crime and is eligible for restitution of economic losses.
